The Netherton Regeneration Strategic Group were recently successful in a Neighbourhood Learning in Deprived Communities bid to the LSC through DMBC's Adult and Community Learning team. The grant has enabled the group to deliver a programme of “Small Steps to Education, Employment and Training over a six month period.
The group have employed a local partner and training provider based at the Savoy (Empire Training Solutions) to undertake the work which is targeted to include people who are vulnerable because they are: homeless; involved with substance misuse; looked after children who are leaving care; ex-offenders and young offenders amongst others. The trainers work closely with West Midlands Probation through the Netherton Office.
